Mediterranean dream home on the Kudamm
The entire exclusive old building flat from 1906 was completely gutted between 2010 and 2012 in a careful collaboration of architects, designers and construction companies and lavishly renovated according to energy-efficient aspects.
The elegant flat with loft character has two entrances with reception area, four loft suites, two open kitchens, as well as two bathrooms en suite, a spacious loggia with a view of the green area opposite and a separate access to the east-facing garden. The flat extends westwards in the front building and eastwards in the rear building towards the courtyard garden. Due to the flat's location on the mezzanine floor and the resulting elevated position of the many windows, the rooms are excellently lit.
As soon as you step through the entrance arch of the flat door, you experience a highlight of the flat - the feudal-looking reception area. At first glance, one encounters the harmonious interplay of different elements here. The finesse of the craftsmanship expressed here manifests itself especially in the extraordinary transition of the exposed raw brick wall into walls on which marble ornaments merge into cement and white gypsum plaster at a height of over one metre. Matching these wall elements, the marble ornaments on the floor lead like an orientation to the three loft suites accessible from here.
The high-ceilinged double-box windows and open design ensure a bright flood of light at any time of day. This front living area leads to the en suite bathroom, which has been finished with partially exposed brick and sealed against damp.
The kitchen and bathroom en suite are adjoined by the other suites. The fine symbiosis of wood, natural stone walls, marble window sills, plaster and exposed concrete elements continues harmoniously throughout the flat. All the design elements were perfectly coordinated in their shapes and angles, taking into account the geomantic aspects. The warm, pigmented colours of the natural materials permeate all the rooms in energetic harmony with each other. The 3.70 m high ceilings with expertly restored, elegant stucco elements expand the room volume and convey a feel-good ambience and aesthetics of the highest order.
